A little late,I know,but I've actually had a few good day's so I think it's warranted... :)
FaNBoY's comic reviews for the week of 6/12/02
Impulse #87 By DC Comics. $2.50.Writer:Todd Dezago= Penciller:Carlo Barberi= Inker:Greg Adams
Another standout Impulse issue, and as I've said in the past,it's a real shame that this book is getting cancelled. But all in all it's a good way to resolve the "World without Young Justice" storyline. It was also good to see Max again.Oh,and purple really does not work on Impulse. It'll also be interesting to see what was on that notepad Bart Showed to his lil' scout dude.
Green Lantern #151 By DC Comics. $2.25. Writer:Judd Winick=Pencils:Dale Eaglesham=Inks:Rodney Ramos
Wow,Now this book is really starting to pick up.Good art and good stories,They just gotta keep it together and it could be one of DC's top seller's.I don't fully understand what the deal is with the angry naked people or Jade flipping out,but hopefully there'll be a good explanation. Also,Kyle's an artist,he can do better then a giant teddy bear to stop a mugger..
Batgirl #29 By DC comics. $2.50.Writer:Kelly Puckett=Pencils:Damion Scott=Inker:Robert Campanella
Continues the "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive" stoyline. Also explains a lil' more on how the murderer got into the Batcave. They used some pretty hi-tech stuff. It could've been one of Penguin's henchmen,or as many have been saying,it really could have been Bruce.no one wants to think he did,but there are some pretty good theories in this issue that prove how he may have done it,but it seriously looks like he didn't.

Comic review time!! Week of June 5 2002.
Out There # 11 by Cliffhanger/DC comics $2.95. Writer:Brian Augustyn-Penciler:Humberto Ramos-Inker:Sandra Hope.
This book continues to happily surprise me. The Art alone is stunning, but the way Augustyn handles the fact that these are just kids while at the same time treating them as though they are 20 something ghost hunters is nothing short of amazing. The story was both good and creepy. Kinda like some weird dream. Then again, I don't sleep well so, a lot of things are odd.
Detective Comics # 771 by DC comics $2.50. Writer: Greg Rucka- Pencils: Steve Lieber- Inks: Mark McKenna&Robin Riggs.
OK, I gotta admit, I haven't been reading the stories all through, I've only been paying attention to the "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive" parts, and I know I should read the whole book, and I will, but these parts are more interesting..Doesn't appear to be that much happening here except that they are trying to get Alfred to testify.
Superboy # 100By DC Comics $3.50. Writers: Karl Kesel, Jimmy Palmiotti and Dan DiDio -Pencils:Tom Grummett and John McCrea -Inks:Wade Von Grawbadger and James Hodgkins.
This is new for me.This is the first time that any of the books I read has been cancelled. And soon Impulse will fall under that axe. The first part of this book was a an interesting startup/goodbye story by Karl and Tom which is something many people had hoped for, and was done rather well. Then the book went into the usual weirdness that it has gone through with Palmiotti as writer. Most of it sucked until the end. And it wasn't really an end either. They definitely leave it open ended which means it'll be ripe for a re-launch in about two or three years, and either way,he's gonna be in Young Justice every month. Still sad to see it go...for a while anyway.
Young Justice # 46 By DC Comics $2.50. Writer-Peter "Da Man" David- Pencils:Todd "Awesomeness" Nauck- Inks:Larry "Rockin"Stucker
It's Young Justice. It's Todd, Peter and Larry. Of course it's gonna rule all.The only bad thing is...no FLIP! or Freakazoid references? C'mon Todd! Besides that, This book seems to surpass it self each month. This could be one of the most consistently done comics in the industry.
Superman # 183 By DC Comics $2.25. Writer:Jeph Loeb-Pencils: -Ed McGuinness -Inks: Cam Smith
First off,I knew that Luthor would have something up his sleeve to cover his ass. How he got it past J'onn,I don't know, but it kinda freaks me out .If he can get past the strongest telepathic character in the DCU, that can't be good. Unless J'onn isn't saying something. The ending is a tad confusing. Overall though, this was another gem,and the cover just screamed 50's cheesiness which we all need every now and then.
Well, that about wraps it up for this weeks reviews. I didn't get Deadline 3,cause i'm back on my Marvel boycott again. They are just milking Sept.11 entirely to much. I saw people scream at Mark and Vinny today cause they weren't allowed to sell them more then one copy. Marvel is causing an awful lot of trouble with these books, and it's getting outta hand. .
