So I was watching a "Birds of Prey" [BoP] episode that I downloaded today, the last one in fact, and i'm realizing how...important each of the supporting characters are in the whole batman family, hell the whole comic family, which makes me realize even more how insanely moronic it was to cancel these titles, and change the characters so drastically.

Alfred has been, slipping more lately. This probably means they will either kill him off or send him into the abyss. A small example of this is what they did with Commissioner Gordon. He and Alfred are some of the most important, underrated characters in all of comics. Alfred is the father figure in Bruce's life, not just the butler. Alfred has gone into the field for Bruce countless times, he has been the moral compass in the story, and it would be a shame to let him go.

The same goes for Gordon. He has been reduced to a second tier cameo character of late. A few years ago Gordon was all but leading Gotham City during "No Man's Land" and now he's all but alone in the back garden of his home. It's a sad waste. Gordon is the human side to the story and he needs to be brought back into the spotlight. Both he and Batman share a special kind of friendship(notably seen in the last part of the animated series episode "Holiday Knights") that needs to be shown more.

Also I look at Spoiler, who is mainly seen in Robin. Aside from being a personal favorite of mine, Spoiler showcases a bit of an Irony, I think. Who would of thought the sidekick would get his own sidekick? A lot of people show a great disdain for her, which I don't understand .People fear she will become the next Robin or Batgirl. That won't happen, I think, though it wouldn't be terrible. A new Batgirl has been created in Cassandra, and is well liked. They wouldn't mess with that.

Obviously I don't feel this way about all the supporting characters. Azazel, for example is a character who was flawed from the start. Why he was given as much attention as he had is beyond me. Another underrated Bat family member is Dr.Leslie Tompkins, whom, aside from being the family physician, also serves as the mother figure in the family. She may in fact have the same amount of emotional integrity, if not more then Alfred.

When people see Batman's supporting cast, firstly they see Robin, Nightwing, Oracle and Batgirl. They have grown into more then a supporting cast .People do realize that now, but for some reason, they fail to look into the characters I mentioned. So to anyone reading this, look deeper, You might find yourself surprised.

Well, Coming in a lil late on this one. Young Justice#55 came out Wednesday. And with it ends a comic that had probably one of if not the most devoted fanbases of any comic I've seen in ages.

The stories that Peter David created were among the best. Todd Nauck and Larry Stucker brought an art style unlike any other, and the fans loved it. The only reason DC has canned a book that sells as good as this is because of the damn cartoon that's coming out soon.

The entertainment companies are in too much control of the comic industry now. X-men is a prime example. If they hadn't worn the black leather in the movie they wouldn't be wearing it in the comics. They say that bright colors don't translate well on the big screen, claiming they, "don't look realistic." It's a fucking comic book!! It's not supposed to be real, its meant to give one a sense of wonder and amazement. People read them to escape for a while. If people wanted to see guys in black leather fighting in slo-mo they can watch the Matrix or a bondage movie.

It's great that they want to get new readers into the books, come on, friggin think of the original fans too dammit, we matter, but no, its always, "Screw the original fans, they don't spend enough money." Maybe it shouldn't always be about the bottom dollar. Ever think of that?

It can be a rerun i've seen 10 times over, but i'll still watch Third Watch like it's the best thing on TV...cause it really is the best thing on TV...god damn I love this show...damn....
I saw "Pulp Fiction" in media today, and i'm not afraid to admit that I don't think it was that good. The editing was needlessly confusing at times, and there were parts that just plain made no sense. You get run over by a guy,yet still live, then get beat nearly to death by the guy,to top if off,he stiffs you for money, but you let him live?! C'mon...

Best quore from tonite's SNL: "In Kansas, hundred's of dead fish turned up in a dry lakebed.Shortly thereafter,President Bush said to avenge the fish,we must declare war on Iraq". -Tina Fey on Weekend Update.
One of these "Dixie Chicks" looks real possessed.Or stoned...kinda reminds me of a younger female Ozzy.
I'm watchin SNL,and "the Dikie Chicks" are on,and I really gotta wonder how they made it through a week in NYC without getting mugged at least 3 times..
Why does the empire require the snowtroopers to have dresses?

Yesterdays Ago by Gina

I don't understand your ways
And every word you say strays away from the way you acted
Yesterdays ago you were there
Yesterdays ago you showed you cared
Now you're unfair and I no longer care
The touch of you hand once so meaningful
Now brings anger and sickens my soul
You've grown cold and tired
No longer inspired
Once so full of life
Now everything you say so empty and trite, Tell me when things went wrong
Better yet tell me when things were right
When you left me that night I tried to put up a fight
I wish I hadn't cried over all the times you've lied
And said you were true as you looked into my eyes
I should have seen past your blank expressions
And meaningless affection
Should've taken a different direction
Too late for sorry excuses only leading to further abuses
Too late to show up at my door
Begging me back for more
Saying it's me you adore
Why weren't you here before?
You were always at the top of my list
Every time we kissed I was enchanted with bliss
But now I see your fist
It's shaking at me for everyone to see
Why was it so hard to believe
A life could have worked out for you and me?
A feeling you received but never returned
In the end I've learned how to get burned
By your un-trusting eyes and everything you've denied. The nights I tortured myself and cried
Tortured myself and felt like I've died
But now I'm more alive than I have been in years
I've moved on and left behind my fears
The fears of past losses and dried up tears
My past fades away and disappears within you
And everything you do doesn't matter anymore
Like it once did before.

There's no more worrying on my behalf
I remember your laugh and the touch of your hair
I remember back when you seemed to care
I remember the feeling of your lips on mine
I remember when I used to be so blind
I remember the day I could care any less
Whether or not you thought I was best
Now I can finally rest and stop caring
That you're no longer staring. Finally found someone for me
Who truly sees everything I want to be
And all that he wants from me
Is to return the feeling unconditionally
Something you would never know
Something you could never show
I'm happier than you'd ever know
Yesterdays ago I'm so glad you left
Yesterdays ago I'm happy you were like the rest. I've found salvation in someone new
Someone who cherishes everything I do
When I look into his eyes so blue
I can tell he'll always be true
So unlike you...

Hero=

he-ro Pronunciation: 'hir-(")O, 'hE-(")rO

Function: noun

Inflected Form(s): plural heroes

Etymology: Latin heros, from Greek hErOs

Date: 14th century

1 a : a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b : a person admired for their achievements and noble qualities c : one that shows great courage

I think that sums up the crew of the Columbia. As it says on a plaque at one of the old Apollo launch sites; "Ad Astra Per Aspera" which translates to, "A rough road leads to the stars." The plaque was dedicated originally to the crew of Apollo 1 who were killed in a fire during an on ground test. The plaque also applies to the crew of the Challenger.

All of these crew members did more then complete space missions ,they gave and still give us hope. They help us look to the heavens in wonder. We must not forget the sacrifices they made. We can't lose any more heroes in vain. The crew is not lost. They are and always will be, home.

I was going to work with my dad.We were driving in the St.George(northern)section of Staten Island. You can see parts of the skyline, and we saw smoke,We just figured it was a boat on fire.About 45 minutes passed while I was at his job,and I had'nt heard anything.I walked into an office and everyone was crowded around a radio,I asked what was goin on and was told to hush. All the sudden this lady on the radio was screaming "Oh my god!! the tower is falling!!" And then I found out.It felt like my stomach just emptied into nowhere. After a few minutes,I ran outside with a few other people to a nearby peir, and thats when I saw it.The most huanting image I'll probably ever see with my own two eyes.Lower Manhattan covered in smoke with one black smoldering tower.I turned to walk away, looked back for a second and the second tower was gone.
